An electrically powered arm allowing high-precision automated tool setting on CNC lathes and turning centres.Rapid actuation allows in-process tool setting and broken tool detection without the need for operator intervention: machine commands activate the arm and lock it into position within 2 seconds.
After the tools have been set, a further command returns the arm to a safe position away from the machining operations.
An innovative patented rotary device automatically locks the arm into a repeatable kinematic location. No additional adjustment or locking device is required.
In addition to the high levels of performance offered by the HPMA, the system’s compact design
minimises the amount of space required within the machine tool.
